Toning Up: Toners for the Dry Skin

Image
What is a toner? Toners is something that you use after you cleanse your skin, to get rid of the dirt that has remained after the day is over. It also helps remove makeup after you cleanse your skin. I used to use toners as my mom had one, we could find all the dirt and pollution on the piece of cotton going through that procedure. It was quite true that the toner was a useful piece of skincare. However, it should fit your skin: do you  have oily/dry/mixed type of skin? It matters a lot. If you have sensitive skin, you should use a very very very natural toner. Even cucumber juice would be fine. Something with less alcohol for sure would be the best for sensitive skin. The more natural ingredients there are, the better it is...  A benefit of the toner is that it minimises your skin pores, so that is great news. It cleanses, that is good news, too. It kind of prepares your skin for the moisturiser, so it is a part of the beauty and skincare routine.  Rose Water of Missha: Meditanical R

All kinds of wonders of skin care: vitamins, sprays and oils

Image
Recently I have been alternating some creams and sprays and wanted to write to you about them. All of them are satisfactory, of course some are more. I will cut it short and dive in to the themes immediately.  Eye Creams  So the first one is the Clinique Pep-Start eye cream . I had already written a review on this cream and I have to say that for daily use I am quite fine with this cream. Its texture is not so oily but it is sufficiently hydrating. I think I might consider re-getting it although maybe for my eyes something tougher is needed. Maybe I use this one in the morning and I can have a stronger eye cream for the night.  The second eye-gel is from Kiko Smart Hydra Shot Eye Gel : this one is lighter but still during the day when I feel that my eyes are getting dry, I sometimes use this gel. It is easy to use since it has a round base just like the pep-start. Both of these are not my favourite creams, well pep-start is closer to being a favourite, but they are efficient during the

Which are unbelievably good hair products?

Image
Here I will give a list of the products good for the hair, or at least I found them useful. LOW SHAMPOOS AND GOOD RESULTS The first one is the Caudalie Low Shampoo, this shampoo is without silicone and SLS, so do not expect it to have many bubbles and foams. It is not a usual shampoo, it is like low shampoos. A little amount from this shampoo is sufficient if you do not have extra long hair and you will see the difference that it makes after you wash your hair. I suggest this one definitely to everyone. The only issue is the price of it, it is not cheap at all for the amount it has. However, as you will see later on it has more inside the tube compared to the Yves Rocher Low Shampoo (which of course is also cheaper). I just want to mention one problem with this shampoo of Caudalie... The way to use it is difficult, cause the plastic that the substance is in, is very rigid, and when there is little left in the tube, it is hard to get it. In general, I think plastic is the prob

LIP BALMS: DO YOU HAVE DRY LIPS?

Image
In this post, I will suggest seven to eight lip balms and I will list them according to my preferences. Before I have talked about hand creams and more hydration . Please see those posts as well. So the first one is my favourite one for sure, that is L'occitane lip balm . This repairs and hydrates. It has a very light smell and I use it before night, I suggest it to everyone... The photo is taken from their website This one is definitely my favourite. It costs 8.5 euros as it says on the website. There is one that is really economic with Aloe vera from Equilibra . I have probably told before that I like the brand Equilibra. It is 4.92 US dollars as it seems on amazon.com. The thing I like about this lip balm is that it repairs the lips, it does not let them dry and it is very light textured. Another one that I have almost finished this winter and autumn was Yves Rocher Coconut lip balm , this one is great, too. It feels very coconut oily like... it feels natura

Perfumes: The journey of fragrances in youth

Image
I have used perfumes since I was sixteen or so. My sister bought me my first perfume Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden... at the time, we did not know much about directors or brands. We just knew about actors and smells; we did not think about wearing brands but we thought about having a perfume. At least we had started to have the desire for things but names ... you know when you are 16 in a smaller town, that is not that important. Especially when someone else discovers the perfumes for you.  Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden The main thing was the main thing, the creator was not important, the patent was not important, the cool thing was to have the perfume. Or at least I thought so... then as we have got older, brands and names became bigger and they started to play a bigger part in our lives. Then there was Davidoff Cool Water , this was a great perfume. It was not heavy, light like the wind, pure like the water, not sticky, not sweet, fresh but with an undertone, it was

Foot-works: what works and what does not?

Image
Not only having sensitive and dry skin but having dry heels, such lucky genes! There is though a solution to that for sure. You'd better take care of your feet which carry your whole weight whole day, that let you discover the world, that allow you to wear beautiful shoes, boots and slippers! Well, to cut the long story short, there might also be natural treatments to dry heels, and will look for them for you. However, before that, I would really like to use some of the knowledge I have about a couple of products.  Let's start with the creams for the feet. There are four suggestions on my side... I will tell you which one worked as much as I expected it to work.  First one is Kiko intensive foot cream . This cream is good for daily use. I use it before I go to bed, and wear my socks afterwards. I expect that at night the cream does all the work. Thought that it would not be efficient but it is quite good. However, I was using it with other creams so could not obser

Maybe in winter we need to be hydrating our skin more?

Image
Now that winter is approaching more hydrating creams might be needed. I will give you a combination of well known and less known brands from different places. This time there will be just a few products but I will explain how they work... First one is the Yves Rocher Anti-pollution UV Beauty shield cream... it is such a nice one that keeps your skin hydrated whole day. I love its texture and smell! Have always loved Yves Rocher The second one is Bottega Verde (avena per i pelli delicate o sensibili) and it has such a soft smell, I use it mostly at night, it has a very natural and light texture, I definitely suggest it. The third one is Caudalie Vinosource Moisture Recovery Cream for dry skin, that works all fine, too! Well, my sister thinks Yves Rocher is much better but I am not so sure yet... I like them both. The fourth one is a B&B cream from Dior: you probably know this one already... I have been using it a lot. It is my third tube now that is abo
