LIP BALMS: DO YOU HAVE DRY LIPS?
In this post, I will suggest seven to eight lip balms and I will list them according to my preferences.
Before I have talked about hand creams and more hydration. Please see those posts as well.
So the first one is my favourite one for sure, that is L'occitane lip balm. This repairs and hydrates. It has a very light smell and I use it before night, I suggest it to everyone...
The photo is taken from their website |
There is one that is really economic with Aloe vera from Equilibra. I have probably told before that I like the brand Equilibra. It is 4.92 US dollars as it seems on amazon.com. The thing I like about this lip balm is that it repairs the lips, it does not let them dry and it is very light textured.
Another one that I have almost finished this winter and autumn was Yves Rocher Coconut lip balm, this one is great, too. It feels very coconut oily like... it feels natural and it protects your lips from cold and harsh weather. It is 4.95 US dollars as I see online.
Another hydrating balsam for the lips is Lavera, as you know it is vegan and gluten-free. The one I have is with the with pomegranate. It costs less than others and it is a good protector for the lips. So far I have no complaints; it keeps the lips hydrated for a long while.
Coloured Lip Balms
Then there is Caudalie one called French Kiss, this was the one that disappointed me the most. It gives a nice colour to the lips but does not protect the lips from cold. I can say it comfortably because I have terrible lips, as my mom told me, after a fever I had when I was a child, my lips were never the same again. It seems that they were damaged forever, so I think that French kiss was not good enough for problematic lips. It looks romantic and cute, but I believe they should develop this product further to make it better. And it is expensive for what it is!
I like Caudalie's hydrating creams, shampoos and perfumes but this one is the one least liked by me!
I would like to add here another brand that I have not talked about before: Balsamo Labbra di Deborah. So this is actually with zero per cent of parabens, fragrance, petrolatum and silicones. It is also slightly coloured. So if you want some red lips, but not too red, you can use this one. The number I have is 05. A plus to this product is that it is also SPF 25. Although I searched on their website, I could not find the exact one I was looking for. However, I should say that I am very satisfied with this brand in general. A great one is Elizabeth Arden Lip Protectant Stick Sheer Tint SPF 15. This is something that I use every day. It gives a slight tint to your lips. Looks very natural and just a bit of shiny. It deserves its merit and positive evaluations. I am very happy with the first product that I used from Elizabeth Arden: the lip balm. This lip balm for sure is not super economic but it goes a long way and it is worth the money, especially if you have dry lips like mine. Sometimes rather than lipstick, it is better to use this one, with light makeup and you will see that it lightens up your face. It is really amongst my favourite lip balms!
There is another discovery I have been using recently. Burt's Bees lip balm. The one I have is Rose. This is a great lipstick as well, it is not sticky and it gives a slight colour to the lips. On the days that you do not want to wear lipstick, this is a great option. So my preferences would be like this: 1) Elizabeth Arden 2) Burt's Bees 3)L'occitane lip balm 4) Yves Rocher coconut 5) Equilibra Aloe Vera 6) Caudalie lip balm 7) Deborah tinted lip balm
As suggested before, honey and sugar and lemon make a good mixture to scrub your lips. I will also suggest some lip scrubs as I have tried a few, but for now, I cut it short here, without giving you a further headache. Have a great evening, night, morning, wherever you are!
