Staying at Home and Taking Care of Yourself

Image
As we are stuck at home I would like to talk about a few rituals that we all do or at least try to do. I have a couple of suggestions on how to take care of yourself, your environment, and also the products that you are using. Now that we are at home, working or studying, or just being unemployed there are more chances to organize our stuff. I have checked all the cosmetics I have (mostly I have hydrating creams and lipsticks as you will see from the first two blog writings I have ). After having done a bit of these myself, I kindly suggest to do these things when you are stuck home: 1) Check what you have and what you do not need to buy. 2) Check the expiry date and prepare the ones that you will use next according to the dates. 3) Now that you are home, do your skincare every day: cleansing, using toner, hydrating... Try different masks that you have at home to see which one fits your skin the best. 4) Even if you see people just on skype or what'sup, try to make it pos

20th of December 2019: Clinique Smart Custom Repair Serum

Image
I do not know if it is because of the Clinique custom-repair serum or not today my skin was much better, today meaning 21st of December.  I can feel that after having used Clinique for almost 21days, my skin seems to be responding well, it is not dry, it is clean and it looks really shinier than usual. So I have to say that my general and overall experience has been positive. I used this serum yesterday night before going to bed. The next day my skin was quite hydrated and it looked quite tight. I have to use repeatedly to understand if it works better or not but I give nine over ten to this product and suggest it! Clinique smart custom-repair serum

Bellàpiere

Image
As promised, today I tried the powder of Bellàpiere after BB cream, used just a bit of it. It has a great texture, it is soft, not heavy, does not dry the skin and it looks really good and natural. So I suggest it as much as I suggest Shiseido. I do not use it as a foundation, but I think that it is great to give some light, cover the imperfect parts and still look nice and natural. So yes I do agree that it is worth the money, and after you open it you can use it for 36 months! I think it can even go longer than that... This photo is a product of Bellapiere that I have not heard before, banana setting powder, it seems to be a good product... I just insert a photo here for you to see how the products look like... mine also looks similar in regard to packaging. Banana setting powder So now remains only three items in the challenge accepted  version. Have a nice weekend! Belif: A brand that surprised me!

Image
So, okay, I am a consumerist. Otherwise, I would not have done this blog, right? How do you know I am a consumerist? -I am caught by advertisements -I go out to buy something and buy something that I do not need -I always buy things before they finish -I am attracted to all the new things that come out... brands, trends, fashion, etc. Yes, so that is how I discovered Belif . Just bought a small sample where there was hydration cream, eye cream, a mask, and a serum altogether. They were quite small. Hence, I took them with me when I had to travel for one month. Still, remember that it was a bit expensive but wanted to try it. I did not regret it, except for one thing that I will tell you soon. It is good! It is really good, just do not like the smell. It smells to chemical but it works. Well, I want to know more about the ingredients of Belif. So the ones that I used were these: so there is this serum  Hungarian Water Essence  so there is this moisturiser Acqua Bomb t

Maybe in winter we need to be hydrating our skin more?

Image
Now that winter is approaching more hydrating creams might be needed. I will give you a combination of well known and less known brands from different places. This time there will be just a few products but I will explain how they work... First one is the Yves Rocher Anti-pollution UV Beauty shield cream... it is such a nice one that keeps your skin hydrated whole day. I love its texture and smell! Have always loved Yves Rocher The second one is Bottega Verde (avena per i pelli delicate o sensibili) and it has such a soft smell, I use it mostly at night, it has a very natural and light texture, I definitely suggest it. The third one is Caudalie Vinosource Moisture Recovery Cream for dry skin, that works all fine, too! Well, my sister thinks Yves Rocher is much better but I am not so sure yet... I like them both. The fourth one is a B&B cream from Dior: you probably know this one already... I have been using it a lot. It is my third tube now that is abo

Eye Creams: A Brief Outlook

Image
Dear Readers, I have used a couple of eye creams and want to share a few of my experiences with you. Will start with the oldest one that I used to use: Avène It is good and it is effective till some age though. After the age of thirty, I needed to use the anti-ageing eye-cream but the pump got broken and could not use it anymore. I will take a stronger anti-ageing of this brand cause I love this brand and need to accept my age I guess. The second one I enjoyed using was Nuxe, it was okay for a long while, but did not see many differences regarding before and after. I need to use stronger ones of Nuxe for sure. Cause the one I had was the lightest. The third one is Kiehl's eye cream, regret to say that, no differences again. I will use the avocado one next and will tell you more about that bit. The fourth was a brand called Eva, an Italian brand, a good one, and I think it was quite good compared to others, and it goes for a long while, so that is also fine. The sm

ROSE WATER? REALLY?

Image
I will be very direct and brief with you. Have tried so far three to five types of rose water. The best is a Turkish brand: Gülşah Then if you cannot find it Otacı (again a Turkish brand) is good as well. I would say that it is also more economical. Another one is like a spray and quite good: Clarins Re-fresh , it is not exactly rose water but a mix of different flowers, you can smell the rose really strongly though. Aaaand there is also an Italian brand which has a very nice smell, it is one of those old recipes... It is also more economical if you have a budget spared for rose water. It is not super luxurious but it has a very very light smell if you do not prefer strong rose smell. Finally, I tried Garnier , but not so happy with it. Still, I have to say that it is 96 per cent natural, it does not have silicones, or parabens or colouring chemicals inside. Bought it in Ipersoap and I think it is not a bad purchase: it also claims to be good for dry ski

HYDRATING CREAMS AND A LONG HISTORY OF EXPERIENCE: LET’S SEE WHAT WE CAN DO FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DRY SKIN

Image
Avène Optimale From the age of 19 till the age of 30 almost I used  Avene Hydrance Optimale   hydrating cream ( Hydrance OPTIMALE Légère ) .  It was suggested by a skin doctor who was a friend of my mother. I am thankful to her up to this day. I was using a little bit of it applying it to the whole of my face day and night, and it was enough for a long while. At the age of 30 or so I started to notice some changes on my skin, it can be even the age of 29, but something has changed. Hence, Avene Optimale was not enough, so I had to try so many different products after that. Clarins Daily Energizer Cream Although it is a very good cream and it keeps the skin quite hydrated, hydration does not last long and it has a very cosmetic smell, especially after having used Avene it is felt even more. Although I can suggest it to someone with less dry skin or someone with oily skin maybe… from my point of view,  Clarins  daily energizer did not work. Bes
